Job Title: Social Media Specialist
Location: Vancouver, BC (Hybrid)
Salary: $50,000 to $55,000 (depending on experience) per year + benefits
About SMC
Our team is growing, and we’re seeking a Social Media Specialist to support the marketing team across a range of client social channels. This role requires someone who is the first to observe trends and changes to the social media landscape, who has an eye for stunning visuals and who understands the power creative thinking can have. The ideal candidate combines a passion for the food and beverage industry, with a strong creative mind and has the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Role Overview
As a Social Media Specialist, you will support our clients in acquiring new followers, increasing
engagement and scaling their influencer campaigns. This role with core strengths in Social
Media Strategy, Content Creation, Channel Management, Client Management & Creative
Thought Leadership will be instrumental in managing a variety of client accounts while also
spearheading departmental growth initiatives, optimizing processes, and exploring new service
offerings to expand our capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Content Creation and Execution
- Implement social media strategies and creative campaigns that align with client goals.
- Write compelling captions in a variety of brand voices.
- Create and curate written, visual, and video content for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and other platforms.
- Stay ahead of trends and explore innovative ways to improve content performance and engagement, using emerging social and influencer marketing trends to inform strategy.
- Work closely with the photography and video team to ensure relevant content is captured for use across client accounts.
- Contribute to SMC’s blog, social media, or LinkedIn presence with thought leadership in the social media space
- Help drive internal initiatives that expand the agency’s capabilities in social media and digital marketing
Channel Management & Engagement
- Oversee day-to-day management of client social media accounts.
- Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and mentions to foster community and build relationships.
- Track and analyze performance metrics; adjust campaigns based on insights to meet or exceed KPIs.
Client Management
- Support the team on client management when needed, providing insights and reports on social performance, trends and recommendations. Develop strong relationships by understanding client needs and proactively delivering results
You’ll Thrive in This Role if You
Have 2+ years of experience in a social media or digital marketing role (agency experience preferred)
Are a creative thinker with exceptional writing skills and an eye for design and content trends
Love the pace of social media and are energized by experimentation, iteration, and optimization
Are detail-oriented, highly responsive, and accountable for deadlines and deliverables
